5th Annual “RELAY FOR LIFE”
“RELAY FOR LIFE” Cancer Walk 2010 – RESULTS:
The “Relay For Life” event in our community on June 19th and 20th raised over $62,000! This amount will continue to increase as more donations come in and are counted. It was an amazing event – just ask anyone who was there!
Here is some information about our church’s involvement and OUR incredible totals from the “RELAY FOR LIFE”:
* Our church’s logo was on the back of ALL of the team members t-shirts as a ‘local sponsor’ because we have been so instrumental in making the event a great success !
* Our church had over 80 registered team members and raised over $18,000
* Our church raised 30% of the total amount !
* 24 of our church members are on the list of the TOP 100 fund-raisers in the event
* We had the most team members participate & raised the most money of any other team in the entire event
* Our High School Youth Group (and their Youth Leaders, along with Traci Bopp) organized the Cancer Survivor ceremony and dinner, assembled gift bags for the Survivors, set up for the Survivor dinner, and served dinner to over 100 Cancer Survivors and their Caregivers
* A ‘small group choir’ from OUR CHURCH sang the “National Anthem” at the Opening Ceremonies !
* Our High School Youth Group won the award for highest fund-raising team (raising over $13,100)
* Amy Patterson won the award for highest individual fund-raiser in the event
* Our church’s top fund-raisers were: Amy Patterson ($10,500), Sandy Bernstein ($1,115), Michelle Ebert ($895), Rich Valle ($835), Traci Bopp ($581), and Lew Shafer ($380)
What an amazing testament to our church and a show of commitment in being a driving force and presence in our community.
