Supporting our Community

At FRC we are working toward developing holistic, long-term, empowering partnerships with great individuals and organizations in our backyard, throughout our country, and around the world.  For some of these partners, we simply provide financial support. For others, we become partners in hands-on work, traveling on-site to help those organizations to live into their purpose.

Our Community Service Day - Service Sunday

Service Sunday is an annual generosity service day for our members.  Once a year, we cancel the worship service and send out our members to serve our community and area. In doing this, we lighten the load for many local nonprofits by giving them help and resources that bring new hope to the people they serve.

Local Groups We Support

POMPTON PLAINS PRESCHOOL- preschool and pre-K programs tailored to fit the developmental, social and educational needs of students. They operate out of our buildings.

PEQUANNOCK FOOD PANTRY - The Pequannock Food Pantry provides grocery assistance to nearly 90 families every month.  The pantry is located on FRC’s campus but is supported by the entire Pequannock Township Community.

CARES (Center for Addiction Recovery, Education and Support) – a pop-up counseling center located in our offices.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS FOR HOPE (CPFH) – A collaborative effort of community partner organizations to identify and address hidden issues and concerns in the Lincoln Park & Pequannock Townships through Awareness (education), Advocacy (seeking long-term solutions) and Action (resourcing) thereby developing pathways to solutions in an effort to create healthier lives and stronger communities in our area. This group sponsors the annual “Grains of Hope” food packaging event (which originated out of FRC) and hunger awareness initiative which brings together over 1,000 people from 15 community organizations to package over 150,000 meals each year.

NORTH REFORMED CHURCH & BESSIE GREEN MINISTRIES, NEWARK – Bessie Green is a food and clothing ministry associated with North Reformed Church in Newark, New Jersey.  They provide necessary respite and resources to some of Newark's most fragile citizens.  FRC supports Bessie Green by collecting gently used clothing, food donations and partners in mission endeavors.

NEW BRIDGE SERVICES  Each year, New Bridges Services helps about 8,000 people of every age and background overcome challenges and live better. Their services include adult and family counseling, substance abuse treatment and addiction recovery, play therapy for young children, school-based prevention programs, youth employment and education services, adult day treatment programs, and outreach to the elderly. They also provide a range of adult residential services that encompass group homes, supervised apartments, and supportive/affordable housing, as well as case management.

FRC YOUTH ON MISSION - Each year, the youth of our church and leaders go out to sites around our area and the nation to do mission work. We believe that these kinds of mission trip experiences positively impact the communities we partner with, the teenagers who are stretched and challenged through a week of service, and the adult leaders who build mission trips into the ongoing discipleship of their teenagers.

PROJECT HOSPITALITY – Project Hospitality is an interfaith effort, committed to serving the needs of hungry and homeless people. They serve people with special needs — people living with HIV and AIDS, people using substances, people living with mental illness — with an array of on-site professional services. They offer a comprehensive continuum of compassionate care that begins with street outreach, shelter, and soup kitchen and food pantry, and extends to treatment, other clinical and support services, and transitional and permanent supportive housing.

SPECTRUM FOR LIVING – Spectrum for Living helps adults with developmental disabilities attain their maximum potential by providing quality housing and clinical services in state-of-the-art facilities and in the homes of families caring for disabled loved ones.

WARWICK CAMP SUNRISE - Camp Sunrise, located at Warwick Conference Center in Warwick, NY is a Christian camping experience for individuals with special needs, ages 8–55. Their mission is to provide a place where campers can experience new challenges and opportunities for growth in a safe and caring environment.

MARKET STREET MISSION - A Morristown mission that ministers to the homeless, helpless and hopeless by meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs through a structured program which enables them to lead responsible, productive lives. They provide for physical, emotional, and spiritual needs – food, shelter, clothing, emotional and spiritual support. They offer emergency assistances to homeless and disadvantaged men and women, and they provide rehab treatment and recovery support.

COMMUNITY SOUP KITCHEN, MORRISTOWN - The Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center provides nutritious meals in a warm, safe environment to anyone who seeks nourishment.  They also provide access to community resources, services and educational programs.

MORRIS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials from the support of local businesses, churches, individual donors and fundraising events, Morris Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates houses in partnership with families in need.

CROP WALK, OF CHURCH WORLD SERVICES – CROP Walks help provide food and water, as well as resources that empower people to meet their own needs. From seeds and tools, to wells and water systems, to technical training and micro-enterprise loans, the key is people working together to identify their own development priorities, their strengths and their needs.

NEW CITY KIDS, PATERSON - New City Kids Paterson offers after school programming for local low-income youth. Children and teens get a chance to explore music and academics in a creative and fun environment. Though there are many challenges of urban life, especially for youth, these programs give children a safe place to feel and hear that they are valued and loved. They strive to set youth on a path of transformation that will carry them forward for the rest of their lives.
