What to Expect

First Reformed Church is a Christ-centered community, which is unapologetically open; our doors, our hearts, and our hands.   We want to offer you an experience that is deep and meaningful, while also inspirational.

We understand that visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go? We want to be as helpful as we can to make your experience a good one. Whether you've attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in a church, First Reformed Church (FRC) is a safe place to bring your doubts, questions, and curiosities, regardless of your beliefs or background. We invite you to come and take a look around.

We hope the information below answers some of the questions you may have.

When are the worship services?

Our Sunday morning worship services are designed to equip and inspire you to know God better and enable you to become the person God created you to be. No matter where you are in life, we'll help you figure out the next steps in your journey with him.

Our Common Ground 8:30 AM worship service held in "Friendship Hall" is about 45 minutes in length and offers a relaxed feel with a blended musical style. Our Celebration 10 AM worship service in the "Sanctuary" is an hour long, also has a blended musical style, but leans toward a more traditional feel, featuring our choirs and musicians.

Why do we do what we do?

Some of us love the community of church so much that it is easy to forget why we meet.  Worship is intentionally constructed to point us toward worshiping God.

What should I wear?

Attire at FRC ranges from ties to jeans, dress shirts to t-shirts, and even shorts. You'll fit in no matter what you wear. Our goal is not to impress others or hold a fashion show; it is to connect with God. So, wear what makes you feel most comfortable!

Where should I park?

The church owns the parking lot in front of the municipal building across the street from our campus.  You are welcome to park there, along the curb in front of our campus, or in the back of our buildings.

Am I expected to put money in the offering?

Offerings are given as an act of worship for attendees who call FRC their home. For new visitors, your presence is a gift to us, but if you want to support the ministry of FRC, we won't stop you. We want you to be blessed without feeling any obligation to give. Online giving is available as a convenient option if you need it.

Is there nursery care?

Our nursery is safe, clean, and staffed by a loving group of paid and volunteer caregivers that will provide exceptional care for your children from infant to two years old. Parents sign their children in and sign them out after the service.  When you bring your child to the nursery, you will receive a vibrating pager so the staff can notify you, if needed. You can worship assured that your child is safe and nurtured. The nursery in the Ministry Center building, located to the right inside the main entrance.

Where do my children go?

We love kids! Our children's ministry program (2 year olds to 5th graders), Spark, is an engaging and fun place to learn and connect with other kids.  It is offered during the Celebration 10 AM worship service and are located in the "Ministry Center" just south of the Sanctuary. The children gather in the room at the top of the stairs and, from there, are guided to their age-specific classrooms.

Where do my teenagers go?

Middle and High School students have programming during Celebration too.  The middle school program is called Ignite and the high school program is called F.U.S.E. (Faith, Unity, Spirit, Everyday).  They begin their time in the basement of the ministry center.  No need to sign them in, but you can come down and check it out if you would like.
